Bringing together key players across the concrete industry’s value chain, the first day of Green Concrete UAE has successfully ended. Held at The Oberoi Hotel in Dubai, UAE, this event focuses on leveraging on sustainable concrete to reduce carbon emission and increase lifecycles of future projects across the UAE. A large number of exciting presentations were delivered today among which we can mention: “Using ecofriendly cementitious material for sustainable concrete in Dubai” by Eng. Fadel S. AbuShaban from Dubai Municipality, “Future Proofing Cities: The Role of BIM in Sustainable Concrete Assessment” by Simon Nummy and Toufik Jabbour, from Atkins, and “Rheological Properties Optimization – A Key Component in Holistic Design of Eco-SCC” by Dr. Kamal Khayat, from Missouri University of Science and Technology USA. The Director of Unibeton stated “Green Concrete UAE was a useful conference with relevant information and up to date discussions that are rather practical and functional, than academic”.
