Dubai, September 2015: GreenParking, the only one stop shop for environmental friendly parking in the Middle East, has sponsored the Pirates Surf and Rescue Team, the only lifeguard training course for children aged 6 to13 in the UAE.

GreenParking has installed and is operating the all-new car park at Kite Beach, in line with the enhancement of the whole area. As part of its CSR efforts, it has chosen to sponsor the ‘Pirates’, the region’s first shore based training course that teaches fundamental life saving skills such as CPR, sea–rescue, body boarding and surfing skills.

“When we were asked to create a safe, bespoke car park on Kite Surf Beach, we went on a site inspection. It was on a Saturday morning and we noticed the ‘Pirates’ training and we were very impressed. Seeing all these kids working to become lifesavers was heartening. We discussed the Pirates’ ethos with their manager and realized that they are not only about saving lives but also about social and environmental responsibility. We felt that this coincided with our own ethos and decided it was our duty to make it part of our corporate mission to support them.” said Sam Alawiye, CEO of GreenParking.

GreenParking provides the ‘Pirates’ with funds to purchase state-of-the-art equipment, ensuring the future life savers of Dubai receive comprehensive training.

“GreenParking is delighted to be sponsoring the training of such important lifelong skills that the ‘Pirates’ offer to the youth of Dubai. Our long-term goal is to establish sustainability as a communal social priority. We are doing this by not only providing state-of-the-art, environmentally sound car parking facilities but also by investing in the youth of the UAE and providing them with the tools to understand the link between health and nature and to learn to respect and protect the environment.” added Sam Alawiye.

By making health and passion for the environment a lifestyle choice for the youth of Dubai, GreenParking and the ‘Pirates’ hope to see a greener, healthier tomorrow.
