The fall series of ‘DDFC Talks’ will offer a platform for designers to collaborate and engage in knowledge sharing Dubai, 15 September, 2015 - The Dubai Design and Fashion Council (DDFC), a governmental organization committed to positioning Dubai as a global design and fashion hub, has announced the launch of the ‘DDFC Talks - IP series’. The upcoming workshops, to be launched September 16th, will be themed around providing key Intellectual Property (IP) insights on the diverse fields of design, such as graphic & digital design, fashion & jewelry design, product & industrial design, architecture & interior design and arts & photography. Comprising of workshops, panel discussions and interactive Q&A’s, DDFC Talks provide an engaging environment for design industry professionals and enthusiasts to learn hands on skills that will add value to their professional development and equip them with the right tools to develop their business. The first DDFC talk around IP will take place on September 16th at Al Serkal Avenue from 7 - 8pm. Commenting on the upcoming series, Nez Gebreel, CEO of DDFC, said, ‘’Aligned with our mandate to support and nurture emerging design talent, we are pleased to announce that the line-up for the upcoming DDFC Talk series will focus on providing key IP insights around the various facets of design. With our partner Clyde & Co’s expert insights, this series will establish a platform for collaborative learning and we look forward to creating an environment that allows designers to excel and flourish.’’ Nadine Kanso, Founder of Bil Arabi Jewelry will be participating on the panel of the first IP workshop and shared, “I feel privileged to be participating in the inaugural IP series hosted by DDFC and sharing my experiences with regards to the impact of IP laws throughout the region. I look forward to an interactive session wherein attendees will be able to join the discussion and understand how they can address IP issues and protect their own designs”. The IP Workshops are held in collaboration with international law firm, Clyde & Co, who have a specialized IP team.
