8-10 September 2015, Dubai, UAE: Tabanlıoğlu Architects, the award winning Turkish House of Architecture and Design, will return this year for its 12th consecutive participation at the annual Cityscape Global, taking place at the Dubai World Trade Centre from 8-10 September 2015.

Recipient of several Cityscape awards since 2005, three of Tabanlioglu’s architectural works have been shortlisted for the Cityscape Awards for Architecture in the Emerging Markets this year: Astana Train station (Commercial – Future), Dakar Congress Centre (Community, Culture & Tourism – Built) and Qent Isitinye (Residential – Built).

Partner and Architect, Melkan Gursel Tabanlioglu, said about their participation: “Once again we are delighted to be part of Cityscape Global. Dubai provides a well-established and remarkable infrastructure that attracts international interest. We share Dubai’s vision of the future and appreciate the dynamic energy of the city.”

Melkan added “Our architectural philosophy has always been dedicated on being in harmony with “the place” and creating ‘places for people’ to appreciate. With every project, we hope to create something impressive and innovative in terms of design and not merely repeat projects. We are passionate to share our experience and knowledge in our field of expertise and hope to collaborate with regional counterparts on contemporary architectural development. The same philosophy and passion is demonstrated on one of our latest projects, the Dakar Congress Center and we are thrilled it was considered for the awards.”

An eccentric natural harbour for presidential meetings, the Dakar Congress Center’s form and unifying roof canopy pays homage to its geographic location and natural values, set amidst Senegal’s extraordinary and characteristic baobab trees. Connected via water and bridges, the construction unifies elements of the complex such as the main conference hall, museum, restaurants, meeting facilities and VIP units. The union of separate blocks accentuates notions of the community's foundation – creation and harmony - order, essential in both social and environmental realms.

A firm believer in the region’s power and its future growth, Tabanlioglu Architects assert their commitment to the region with its Crystal Towers mixed-use project at Jumeirah Beach Residence (JBR) Dubai which is well underway and its opening of their office in Qatar.

Tabanlıoğlu Architects will be located at stand S3A30.
