Dubai, August 3, 2015: The Campaign shot in NY by the photographer Antony Maule expresses the sophisticated and glamorous style of the fifties through the new Max Mara FW 15 collection. The new FW campaign imagines a wardrobe inspired by some pictures of a gorgeous Marilyn taken by George Barris at the beach in 1962. These pictures show Marilyn Monroe on the sand with the background of the ocean, swaddled in a washed camel blanket and a masculine cardigan. Reconnecting to these pictures the collection’s signature coats are worn seductively with the allure of luxurious beach wraps. Bomber jackets, overcoats, peacoats, duffels, sweatshirts; Marilyn’s “me time” menswear classics are reinvented in camel hair, cashmere, alpaca and quilted silk. So too are her signature slip dresses, bustiers and pencil skirts. Silhouettes are shrunken or maxi-sized. Camel, sand, casha, ivory; luminous colors which recall that famous shoot on the beach. Sun bleached, powdery pinks, yellows, greens and blues for feather-light cashmere knits, fleecy tweeds, flocculent alpacas and mink which sometimes peeps from the hem of a coat. The Hollywood bag in sleek pony or calfskin with its elegant signature clasp gives discrete glamour - the newest version is worn like a backpack. Gigi Hadid is an American model born in 1995. Her modeling career started when she was 2 years old. In the last year she walked for some of the most important fashion brands including Max Mara, which chose her as first opening and closing of the FW 15 fashion show.
