PRESS RELEASE 21st May 2015 – For immediate release. Golden Gate Nursery opening promotion - first term fees for FREE. Golden Gate Nursery is a newly established, British Curriculum (Early Years Foundation Stage) nursery in Umm al Sheif. We are due to open our doors mid-May and as an opening promotion we are offering first term fees for FREE. Our beautiful new nursery is a purposefully designed space for children 6 months to 4 years that provides a careful and seamless balance between care and education. Each of our wonderful and individually designed areas allow children to explore and discover, so that they may follow their own interests and extend their understanding, skills and knowledge. We are committed to helping our young children become confident and positive achievers, providing children with high quality learning experiences that will prepare them for the rest of their lives. We value all aspects of our children’s lives and endeavor to build strong partnerships with all parents and carers as well as the community and future schools. Our highly skilled and truly passionate staff deliver an exceptionally high standard of teaching. They offer a range of stimulating, exciting and fun activities, providing the very best of the British Early Years Foundation Stage (EYFS) curriculum for our children from birth until they venture off on their new chapter to school. Golden Gate Nursery where 'little minds, have big dreams' Our nursery boasts state of the art facilities, a combination of spacious, bright classrooms and inspiring play areas. Each child will have time out of their classroom every day to enjoy all areas of the nursery. Our LIBRARY area: An enchanted area especially designed for our children to love and enjoy books. Our library offers many learning opportunities for our children’s imagination to run wild. The large range of different styles of books and story sacks are easily accessible for the children to independently and freely choose. Books are the number one educational tool and children, as little as a few months old are fascinated by the colours and textures that they see. As children become more confident learners they will start to remember and recite their favourite stories. Child development starts as soon as they are born and the importance of books in this process is vital. Babies might chew, throw or turn a book around but this will be the beginning of a long lasting journey to becoming a successful reader. At Golden Gate Nursery we inspire to spark a love for books for all ages. Our ROLE PLAY area: To ensure our children really do ‘learn through play’ we have an inspiring role play area – allowing children the space and time to develop their imagination. Role play is a very important part of a child’s education. The imagination is a powerful tool which we encourage to develop in every individual. It is important that we provide children with the opportunity to unfold their personalities and form friendships within their environment. In order for us to accomplish this we have an excellent purpose built area with scenarios, props and the support they need to explore their real life or imaginary worlds. Imaginative play not only aids intellectual development but also improves children’s social skills and their creativity. In addition it gives children a chance to play out events that they have observed or experienced in real life. Our INDOOR GYM: Children need time and space to burn off energy and build and strengthen muscles. Our bright spacious indoor play areas are divided into two, one for our babies and the other for our toddlers. The baby area is an excellent space for our little ones to develop the confidence in starting to sit up, crawl and take their first few steps while the toddler gym is filled with age appropriate toys to stimulate their minds and bodies. Each child will spend time in the indoor gym on a daily basis. Our SENSORY ROOM: It has been proven that time spent in a multi-sensory environment increases concentration, focuses attention, improves alertness and communication skills. Our sensory room is a magical place where babies and toddlers alike will enter a little world filled with soothing sounds, moving colours and shapes, bubble tubes and fibre optic lights Sensory rooms provide an oasis of relaxation which is vital for children’s emotional health, a place where they can rest and become interested in their environment. Some will simply lie down and enjoy the magic while for others they will engage in the more interactive areas.. Our MUSIC AND MOVEMENT STUDIO: Our bright music and movement studio allows our children to develop their bodies and co-ordination skills. Our room is bright, spacious and inviting. With mirrors down both sides the children will love to expand their creative minds with dance movements and listening to music from around the world. Our children also have the opportunity to discover the different sounds when playing with musical instruments. This room also enables our children to get more physical with sport activities provided in house and also through external sport providers. This promotes healthy lifestyles which is important to adopt from young age. Our BABY ROOM: Our baby classroom is on the ground floor. We will enforce a strict ratio of a maximum of 3 children to each adult and cap our baby intake at 9. All our non-toxic and brand new furnishings and toys have been well thought through to ensure a stimulating and safe environment. We have a dedicated black and white are of our baby classroom as research has proven that black and white contrasts register powerfully on a baby’s retina and send the strongest visual signals to baby’s brain. Stronger signals mean more brain growth and faster visual development. All of our toys for our babies will be at their level and easily accessible. We will ensure that our baby room will provide learning opportunities even at a young age. Our babies will start to communicate through songs and rhymes and also be given the confidence to start their physical journey whether it be sitting up, crawling or starting to walk. Our SLEEP AREAS: Whilst we know that our children have fun and enjoying learning at nursery we also appreciate the importance of sleep, our nursery has dedicated rooms just for our babies and toddlers to sleep in. Napping is a very important time for small children so we want to make sure that they are not disturbed and can wake fully refreshed ready for more playing and learning. Our TODDLER CLASSES: Our seven bright and spacious classrooms are all unique in their size and decoration. Each is arranged to ensure maximum natural light and has its own en-suite bathroom facilities. Within these classrooms our teachers will provide fantastic learning opportunities for all children through fun and purposely planned activities. The range of activities will be from morning welcome songs to promote social development, circle time where our teachers will encourage communication, table top activities such as jigsaws to enhance hand-eye co-ordination and our arts and crafts activities. Our children will enjoy their time in our classrooms with their teacher. Our OUTSIDE PLAY AREAS: Much thought has been given to the outside areas of the nursery to ensure that children are able to play in a safe and encouraging way. The children have plenty of space to play and a wide choice of activities and toys to play with, each area of the classroom is shaded using the highest quality UV protective shades and we operate a strict no hat no play policy. We ensure that all children have time to play outside on a daily basis. Having an outdoor environment is very important for all children as they can learn from every part. They can learn from the weather, the sounds they hear and the activities we provide them. Having a fantastic large space also encourages physical development in all ages of children. This is a very important area of learning. Our SPLASH PLAY AREA: Water play fosters learning in all developmental areas. It provides opportunities for children to experiment with math and science concepts, strengthen their physical skills, advance their social and emotional skills, and enhance language development. Our splash play area allows the children to have fun with water in a safe and hygienic way. OUR TEAM EMMA DAY – NURSERY MANAGER Hello, my name is Emma and I am the Nursery Manager. I am originally from the UK and I moved to Dubai August 2014 to work for Golden Gate Nursery. I love Dubai and I have certainly found my 'home'. I have worked in childcare for many years and have a total of 15 years’ experience with 7 of those being a Nursery Manager. I have built up fantastic teams within all of my nurseries and plan to carry this on with Golden Gate Nursery. Inspiring and teaching children is my passion and has been from a very young age. I find nothing more rewarding than helping and supporting a child to develop and learn new life skills. I am a team player, a good mentor for all of my staff team and I pride myself on accomplishing high standards. In my personal life you will usually find me shopping in the malls or enjoying the outdoors with my dog. I also really enjoy watching movies at the cinema and trying out new restaurants. Look forward to meeting you to welcome you to our Golden Gate family. JUSTINE FRRARELLI – FORNT OFFICE MANAGER Hi my name is Justine. I am the Front Office Manager at Golden Gate Nursery. I was born and raised in Spain and moved to Dubai in October 2014. My Mother is British and Father Italian. I lived most my life in Spain but studied in the UK from the age of 16 and resided there for over 7 years. During this time I accomplished an NVQ Level 2 in Customer Service followed by an NVQ Level 3 in Team Leadership & Management within Customer Service. I spent a year working as a Front Office Assistant and was then promoted to Manager, which I went on to do for a further 2 years. I loved being surrounded by children from a very young age. I always had regular babysitting jobs and enjoyed helping out with children at family gatherings. As a young adult I decided to direct my natural passion for children into my career. With this knowledge I decided to return to Spain where I was given the chance to work as an Early Years Teacher at a local English International Primary School. I knew from that moment, wherever in the world I went I would want to be surrounded by children! My role here at Golden Gate Nursery is perfect as I am lucky enough to be around the energy and fun of children whilst working in a front office role. Zoe Clapp – Marketing Manager My name is Zoe. I am originally from the UK and moved to Dubai with my husband and two young children four years ago. I am responsible for Marketing for Golden Gate Nursery. Working for Golden Gate Nursery means that I can combine my experience in marketing and advertising with working with our children and their parents, I feel so lucky to working alongside such an inspiring team in a beautiful location. NICOLA MACDONALD – TEACHER I am Nicola Macdonald, a mum of two from the Middle of England, entering the fourth year of our Dubai adventure. Since moving to Dubai in 2011 I have taught at a number of nursery schools across the Emirates, working my way up to an assistant management level in my last position. I hold the EYFS level 3 certificate and I am currently working towards my level 4. Prior to Dubai I lived in Spain for 6 years where I owned my own business and met my husband Alan, who owns and operates a financial consultancy here in Dubai. I am looking forward to a very exciting year ahead at Golden Gate Nursery and working within a creative and dynamic team. DOMIA ECONOMIDES – TEACHER My name is Domia, I am half Greek, half English and have lived in the UK for the majority of my life, where I completed my University Degree. I moved to Dubai around a year ago and I am now one of the teachers here at Golden Gate Nursery. I am very excited to be working at Golden Gate Nursery and put my creative skills to good use.
