Dubai, February 11, 2015: A high level British delegation comprising of food and beverages led by Mr Robert Furse, Sector Specialist – Food and Drink of United Kingdom Trade & Investment (UKTI) visited Al Maya Store at Murooj Complex, this was informed by Mr Kamal Vachani, Group Director of Al Maya Group. The delegation was impressed with the set up of Al Maya Stores and appreciated the efforts taken by Al Maya Group in promoting British foods and bringing them to the UAE. The delegation’s visit has been organized jointly by British Embassy Dubai, UKTI and International Trade Advisors in the UK. Al Maya Group has been importing food products from U.K. from a very long time and enjoys excellent relations with U.K. companies. “ We at Al Maya are confident that with the efforts taken by UKTI and British companies the imports of foodstuff from United Kingdom is going to grow to a new heights ” informed Mr Kamal Vachani, Group Director of Al Maya Group. Bilateral trade between the UAE and the UK is strong and thriving. Both ways trade is expected to close 12 billion British Pounds in 2015, according to UK’s Office for National Statistics. The UAE is the UK’s largest civil export market in the Middle East and 12th biggest globally. UK-UAE bilateral trade in goods and services reached 10.6 billion Pounds in 2012. Al Maya Group are exhibiting in Gulfood, the Region’s Premier Food and Beverage show – in C6-20, Hall 6, added Mr Kamal Vachani.
