Molteni&C, brings classic Italian furniture design to the UAE, unveiling its exclusive Ponti line, a collection based on the timeless furniture of Italy’s most influential architect of the 20th century: Gio Ponti The new furniture line launched by Molteni&C and available exclusively at Finasi, captures the true essence of Italian design and the classic quality of Gio Ponti’s works, characterized from generation to generation as a mix of aesthetics and design. Under the artistic direction of Cerri&Associati, extensive research and study of drawings from the Ponti archive, and a sole-right agreement with Ponti’s heirs, Molteni&C gave life to the Ponti collection. The collection includes pieces based on Ponti’s works ranging from 1935-1970. Recently re-issued by Molteni&C, is the Ponti D. 153.1 Armchair, a well-loved piece first designed in 1953. Featuring a brass structure, it is offered in bi-colour blue and white leather, or Punteggiato China Blue velvet, reinterpreting the age-old technique of velvet weaving, but bringing it up to date with contemporary patterns. Covers are also available in fabrics and leathers from the Molteni Collection. Other pieces include a bookcase, bureau, small table, picture frames and a rug based on the design for Casa Ponti in Milan. Noted as one of the most influential and important architects of the 20th century, Ponti revolutionized the design and architecture worlds with classically timeless designs that continue to transcend generations.
