• Schneider Electric Becomes Broadest Industrial Software Provider in the World
• Combined Software Portfolio Provides Unified Framework and Suite of Rich Applications

Dubai-UAE: 14 December, 2014 – Schneider Electric, a global leader in energy management, today announced the complete integration of Invensys following its acquisition in January 2014. The merger allows the combined entity to provide expertise and knowledge in automation, software and energy management across the industrial and infrastructure target markets.

Following the acquisition, Schneider Electric ensured Invensys completed its fiscal year without any distractions. The second phase of the integration was rolled out in April, setting objectives that create value for customers, offer broader opportunities to employees and minimize business disruption. In the final phase, a complete diagnosis was conducted to understand business rationale and build synergy between Invensys and Schneider Electric with a view to driving sustained value for years to come.

Benoit Dubarle, Country President, UAE, Oman & Pakistan, Schneider Electric said: “The industrial landscape is shifting as trends such as globalization, the digital revolution, environmental awareness and its impact force producers to balance their priorities. To meet these ever-increasing demands, customers need a strategic partner. The combination of people, capabilities and technologies from both Schneider Electric and Invensys helps deliver enhanced efficiency, productivity, flexibility, safety and security to our customers.

“Together, we are set to change the game for software as our combined portfolio provides a unified framework and a suite of function rich applications that deliver tangible value and optimized business processes across specific vertical solutions. For our customers, we now link operating assets, people and processes to improve their competitive advantage.”

Under the merger, software brands are unified in a single portfolio. The brands include Aquis, Avantis, CitectSCADA, OASyS DNA, Plant Operation Ampla, SimSci, Supply Chain Operation, Termis, Vijeo Citect and Wonderware. The features added in the portfolio comprise historian (historical archiving), mobile capabilities, plant design, simulation, Advanced Process Control (APC), asset management, additional analytics and reporting, workflows, and MES among others.

On the services side, Schneider Electric has expanded its Equipment Maintenance Services with Remote Electrical Asset Monitoring using Invensys’ Wonderware Historian to help manage data collection. This data is leveraged using Avantis Enterprise Asset Management and Avantis Condition Manager Software to improve asset performance, analytics and failure prediction, as well as optimize field service operations and improve uptime.

Wonderware Corporate Energy Management software combined with Schneider Electric’s Power Monitoring Expert software improves reporting coverage for a broad range of users within any manufacturing enterprise. Wonderware System Platform software combined with Schneider Electric’s Water Management Suite (Aquis) enhances water network behavior forecasts, water quality, ‘what-if’ scenarios and missing information between measured points for customers in the water and wastewater industry.

Schneider Electric’s PlantStruxure is the global process automation architecture for discrete to continuous applications. Its scope has expanded to include the former Invensys portfolio, including distributed control systems (DCS) for process applications and a complete range of safety solutions that are now delivered alongside hybrid control system applications, plant and infrastructure for discrete applications, and telemetry for remote architectures.

The integration of the Wonderware System Platform with PlantStruxure gives Schneider’s industrial customers seamless access to the world’s largest automation software suite. It also delivers a single operator user experience for remote, plant and process architectures.
