BASF to showcase innovative solutions at Gulfood Manufacturing Exhibition 2014

Dubai-UAE: 08 November, 2014 – BASF, the world’s leading chemical company, is set to highlight its latest range of innovative products and solutions in human nutrition and performance flooring categories at the annual Gulfood Manufacturing Exhibition.

The three-day event will run at the Dubai World Trade Centre from 9-11 November, 2014. Products and solutions from two of BASF’s flagship brands – Newtrition® and Master Builders Solutions – that are customized to meet regional requirements and sustainability standards will be on display at booth S3-E18.
The company shows how it combines its various strengths in order to find the best solutions for customers. The food, beverage and dietary supplement sector has several regulations outlining food safety and sanitation along multiple stages in the food chain. Flooring solutions play a vital role here in helping these industries meet and excel such standards.

BASF Human Nutrition provides a diverse product and service portfolio that caters to the evolving needs of end consumers worldwide. This includes health ingredients such as vitamins, omega-3 fatty acids and plant sterols, a range of products for bakeries such as whipping agents, aerating emulsifiers and enzymes for different applications such as bread and cakes. The BASF portfolio is also an excellent fit for food that is naturally-sourced, halal and vegan.

At the annual Gulfood Manufacturing Exhibition, BASF Human Nutrition will showcase innovative examples for end consumer products adapted to regional demands and nutrition requirements, e.g. BonBone Kids, a pocket-sized milk tablet with Vitamin D3, as well as a fruit smoothie with Vegapure® for a healthy heart, Laban with health ingredients such as Tonalin®, and dip sauces modified with vitamins and whipping agent Lamequick®.

From the Master Builders Solutions range, BASF will highlight popular flooring solutions that contribute to the safety and efficiency processes in the region’s food and beverage industry. As hygiene is a key imperative for ensuring food quality, the company encourages the F&B industry to invest in smart flooring to maintain the sanitation of work areas and mitigate germ and bacteria breeding.

BASF’s Master Builders Solutions include Ucrete® and MasterTop®. The former – a heavyduty polyurethane resin floor that meets the strictest levels of hygiene regional food and plant requirements – is particularly suited for working areas in restaurants, meat processing factories, juice presses and washing areas. The Mastertop® product range also consists of epoxy and polyurethane-based flooring systems for decorative or industrial uses.

As the Middle East's largest-ever trade show, Gulfood Manufacturing will feature ingredients, processing, packaging and food logistics providers from the food and beverage production industries across the Middle East, Africa, Far East and Sub-Continent. The event is anticipated to host more 1,100 global food manufacturers, suppliers and service providers, including a world-class line-up of international brands.
