Dubai’s rich cultural diversity and its reputation as a shopping destination are merging in a rousing burst of celebrations this ‘Eid in Dubai – Eid Al Adha’, as shoppers across all ages and nationalities flock to malls in the city to take advantage of the fabulous deals and discounts being offered, as part of the ongoing ‘Eidiyat Dubai’ promotion. Exuding a celebratory ambience in keeping to the festive mood of shoppers looking to make the best of the discounts and promotions, the malls are proving a popular draw for residents and tourists during this year’s ‘Eid in Dubai – Eid Al Adha’ celebrations. And adding to the festive cheer at the mall are events and activities targeted at families and kids. Organised by the Dubai Festivals and Retail Establishment (DFRE), an agency of the Department of Tourism and Commerce Marketing, and the Dubai Shopping Malls Group (DSMG), the ‘Eidiyat Dubai’ promotion is offering 500 shoppers across participating malls the chance to win up to AED 500,000 in prizes. Shoppers spending AED 200 or more are entitled to scratch cards that will allow them to win instant shopping vouchers worth AED 1,000. The ‘Eidiyat Dubai’ promotion is one of the many attractions of the 7th edition of ‘Eid in Dubai – Eid Al Adha’, which is aimed at reinforcing Dubai’ commitment to offering residents and visitors an enriching holiday experience, complemented by warm and welcoming Islamic values and Emirati traditions, while spreading the true spirit of Dubai’s multicultural environment under the theme, “United in Celebration.” Since the ‘Eidiyat Dubai’ promotion was launched on 25 September, it has received a huge response from shoppers who have also been picking up great deals on a wide range of merchandise offered by retail outlets at the participating malls, which include Arabian Center, Bin Sougat Centre, BurJuman, Century Mall, Ibn Batuta Mall, Lamcy Plaza, Oasis Centre and Reef Mall. “I just love shopping at BurJuman because they have all the best brands in one place. The mall is very spacious and family-friendly, and has an at-home feel to it that one finds very welcoming. And during festivals such as ‘Eid in Dubai’ there are so many good offers and deals to choose from, not to mention the chance to win big with some amazing promotions,” said Dawn Mathews, an Indian national who was seen trawling the mall with his friend Anilkumar.
“We visit Dubai pretty much every year, often during the Eid Al Adha break, and we always make it a point to visit the malls when we are in the city,” said Samer Shouman, a businessman who is visiting with his family from Saudi Arabia.
