Sharjah, UAE, 11th May 2014: With the active participation of Centro Sharjah on its Corporate Social Responsibilities, the hotel once again shows its concern to community. For the second time around the hotel supported Manzil, a centre for children with special needs. Two students from the centre will be participating in the Summer Training Programme across to different departments of the hotel from Finance, Events, Marketing and F&B for four hours once a week during the summer. With the workforce of approximately 160 colleagues in the hotel, the intensive training that will be given to the students with special needs of Manzil Centre aimed to empower them, know their values and learn to work independently. The students will be provided with the insights of the operation of the hotel and its ethos. Michael Kasch, General Manager, Centro Sharjah said: “Centro Sharjah is committed to creating a positive impact to our community where every person can achieve their full potential, even for people with special needs. The introduction of these training sessions gives the students a chance to show their expertise and being special is not an obstacle to reach their dreams.” Anuja Ghosh, Learning and Development Manager of Centro Sharjah, inaugurated the programme and welcomed the trainees. She presented an overview of the workflow and described about the role and objectives of Centro Sharjah incorporating lectures from the designated departments including self-building and team work. Michale Kasch explained how the students can benefit from the summer programme training that includes mainly how a hospitality company operates and it would further strengthen the knowledge horizons of the students in terms of uplifting their morale and increasing their self esteem, “a can do attitude” that is Centro Sharjah ethos will be part of their training as well. The training programme will end in July 2014 and students will be awarded with certificates and gifts upon completion of the training sessions.
