Cavalia raises its Signature White Big Top in Dubai for March 20 premiere

DUBAI, UAE (March 9, 2014) - The gleaming White Big Top is now erected at Dubai World Trade Center, opposite Novotel Hotel, in preparation for the Dubai season of the multi-disciplinary theatrical production Cavalia. Starting today, a team of 80 people will work on-site to build and complete the impressive Cavalia Village - home of the equestrian spectacular created by Normand Latourelle, one of the founders of Cirque du Soleil. Cavalia is set to open March 20.
With fairytale spires towering 10-storey high, Cavalia’s White Big Top spans more than 2,440-square-metres and accommodates a colossal 50-metre-wide stage, behind which a constantly changing digital background is projected onto a 60-metre-wide screen, drawing spectators into dream-like virtual environments. The gigantic stage area provides equestrian stars room to gallop, at times completely free, and express themselves in all their grace, strength, and beauty.

Over the past decade, Cavalia’s White Big Top has graced the skylines of the largest North American, European and Australian cities. Weighing more than 50 tons, the White Big Top has more than 6,630-square-metres of canvas and seven trailers are required to transport it.
Following its tremendous sell-out success in Abu Dhabi last month, the internationally acclaimed theatrical production will gallop its way to Dubai with a longer, revamped show. This version of the equestrian extravaganza - including new stunning projections, new breathtaking acts and new costumes -  features 50 magnificent horses, 44 riders, aerialists, acrobats, dancers and musicians from all over the world. Enjoyed by more than 4 million spectators, Cavalia virtually reinvents the equestrian arts.

TICKETS - For its exclusive run in Dubai, Cavalia will be presented under its signature White Big Top at the Dubai World Trade Centre, opposite Novotel Hotel. Tickets prices start from AED 250 and can be bought from www.ticketmaster.ae
