Urban art harmony to wow visitors to Courtyard Gallery's Pop Wall exhibition

Collaborative exhibition between Courtyard and London's Graffik Gallery transcends cultural art boundaries
 
Dubai, UAE, 9th March 2014: 'Pop Wall', an exhibition collaboration between Dubai's Courtyard Gallery and London's Graffik Gallery, is scheduled for opening on 16 March 2014, which will be held in Courtyard Gallery in Al Quoz. The exhibition will feature vibrant and fresh pop artworks from nine well-established international artists. The exhibition is open for one month, closing on April 17 2014. The opening reception on 16th March 2014 will be from 6:00PM to 9:00PM.

Creative masterpieces from nine artists of UK, Japan and Middle East origins will be on display at the exhibition, with several of the artists available at the opening night to speak to visitors about their work. The exhibition is a nod to the growing popularity of the pop art scene in Dubai, and will feature acrylic and mixed media works, spray painted graffiti artworks, printed posters, and pop-themed purses.

Artists involved in the exhibition are: The Dotmasters (UK); Robin Coleman (UK); Icon (UK); Aito (Japan); Binty Bint (UK); Yazan Halwani (Lebanon); Saif Chilmiran (Canada/Iraq); Raafat Karimeh (Lebanon), and Maria Iqbal (Afghanistan).

'We look forward to the opening night of Pop Wall as it is a privilege to host so many talented artists in our gallery,' said Samia Saleh, Courtyard Gallery's owner. 'Pop Wall is an expression of individual style from three very unique regions of the globe. The artists draw upon their own backgrounds for creative inspiration, culminating in a beautifully curated exhibition that brings the West, Middle East and East together.'

Art lovers can further interact with the prominent artists (The Dotmasters and Binty Bint) on the 18th March 2014 at the JA Ocean View Hotel’s entrance where live painting sessions will be taking place at 6:00PM along with painting and fun activities for the whole family. Guests can also stand a chance to win a glamorous prize for two from the JA Ocean View Hotel.

Courtyard Gallery is located in 4B Street in Al Quoz, Dubai - an area that is renowned for its artistic graffiti and pop art spots, following the Street Night Art event, held earlier this year. Art lovers, artists and guests are invited to express their own creative instincts on blank canvasses installed outside of the gallery, where they can spray paint their own versions of pop art to create a personal masterpiece.

The exhibition is open from 10am-6pm Sunday-Thursday.
