A true test of stamina and equestrian excellence, the race featured some of the most significant names from horse and endurance racing. Held on the 11th of January at the Dubai International Endurance City as it is every year, the ‘His Highness Sheikh Mohammed Bin Rashid Al Maktoum Endurance Cup' this year witnessed Sheikh Rashid Dalmook Al Maktoum from the UAE emerge victorious amongst the talented participants. Beginning in the early hours of the morning, the exciting Endurance Race is a competition in which riders have to cover a distance of 160 km, managing their speed to the best advantage. This task involves a huge amount of patience and precision and also observes the amount of familiarity that exists between the rider and his horse. At each level of the competition, the horses are refreshed and checked by a vet to ensure that they are not over-exerting themselves. The race also allowed attendees the opportunity to get involved in the excitement and thrill by deploying drivers with 4*4 vehicles at their disposal which took them to the heart of all the action.
