Under the patronage of the Dubai Sports Council an initiative of “Dubai Pulse”; Detour Events Management has launched yet another unique sports challenge for public – DETOUR City Hunt presented by ENOC. That's right, it's a treasure hunt in the city of Dubai using only public transport. Nasser Al Rahma, Director Community & Private Sector Department at Dubai Sports Council, stated: "We are delighted to be partnering with Detour Events Management to launch this unique event, which will test the fitness of the UAE public and promote healthy living through sports in an innovative and fun way. Four hundred participants will explore the city through public transport, completing various sporting and mental challenges on the route. The team that obtains the best scores will be awarded with a grand prize of AED 10,000 from Dubai Sports Council. We want to encourage people to reduce their carbon footprint and support the “Go Green” initiative of Dubai government.” DETOUR City Hunt will test the participants' endurance and fitness through various sporting challenges at the pit-stop locations spread across Dubai. Teams of two adults will have to encrypt clues in order to find the location of the next pit-stop, and get there by using every imaginable form of public transport from metro, buses, water buses and their very reliable two feet!! No cars or taxis can be used during the competition. This thrilling one-day sports event will run on 18th October 2013. It will start from the Burjuman Centre at 2pm, when Dubai Metro opens its gates, and finish in evening hours with an award ceremony, dinner and entertainment at a secret location managed by Dubai Sports Council. The participation requirement is 18+ years. We encourage university students, friends, couples, families and coworkers to join and enjoy an adventurous day out.
