High-powered breakfasts to be hosted by province governors and Iraqi decision-makers to spur investment Dubai, 25 August 2013: The Iraq Mega Projects Conference and Exhibition, organised by the CWC Group, has announced a series of Governor led province breakfasts to boost upstream investment and infrastructure solutions that will in turn increase export capacity in the South of Iraq. Iraq Mega Projects is being held at The Dubai International Convention & Exhibition Centre's Sheikh Maktoum Hall from September 30th to October 2nd 2013. Following a two day strategic conference and international exhibition, the investment breakfasts will occur on October 2nd and welcome high-powered decision-makers and investors associated with Iraq's oilfield to explore new business opportunities in Maysan, Basra & Anbar. The Missan Breakfast will be hosted by H.E Dawai Ali Lazim, the Governor of Missan – a province that has begun construction of the second phase of its Halfaya oil field project. The Halfaya field offers estimated reserves of 4.09 billion barrels. “The Iraq Mega Projects Conference and Exhibition is about facilitating investment in Iraq's hugely promising oilfield sector. It brings international and national oil companies to a single platform where they can gather market intelligence on investment opportunities, common pitfalls, key challenges, and the best way to enhance oilfield production in Iraq. The Province Breakfasts are an excellent, targeted and focused way for investors to hear from key leaders about the opportunities in specific Iraqi provinces,” said Iraq Mega Projects Director of Government Relations, Frederic Ponton. In addition to the provinces breakfasts, the Iraq Mega Projects Conference & Exhibition has released its schedule of talks and seminars focused on project and infrastructure solutions in support of oilfield production in Iraq. Topics in the spotlight include identifying the ambition and scope of hydrocarbon projects in Iraq, strategies of infrastructural development for crude oil export in the long term, and real world case studies exploring challenges and solutions in operating oil fields.
