The 2-day summit will bring together over 200 industry experts who are vested in investing in youth to help them realize their full potential.
Thursday, 9th June 2022, Dubai, UAE: While the last 50 years of the GCC was built by natural resources and oil, the next 50 will be built by the most important part of its human capital- its youth. They are a driving force for the nation’s development. They act like agents of social change, economic development, and progress. With a mission to empower, uplift and carve a pathway for today’s youth to become future leaders, the 3rd annual of GOV YOUTH is back once again bringing together Government Dignitaries, Policy Makers, the C-Suite and Youth Leaders from across the GCC to create dialogue and build the roadmap towards developing and shaping the future of the youth workforce.
Highlighting the importance of Youth Empowerment in developing the future of the nation H.E. Farida Abdulla Mohamed Al-Ali, Asst. Undersecretary, MOHRE shares her thoughts on challenges and trends that today’s youth is facing. “With over 40 per cent of the UAE population 35 years old or younger, the UAE has adopted a clear vision and strategy to engage them to define what and how they want their country to be. This empowerment is a catalyst for change and growth. In line with this, UAE appointed the youngest government minister in the world [H.E. Shamma Al Mazroei] in 2016 to handle the Ministry of Youth portfolio and champion this transformation. Our youth live in a society where we learn from the past and exploring new horizons is considered risky. Moreover, most countries believe that knowledge is gained only through experience and maturity. Hence, changing attitudes and ensuring the empowerment of youth is a challenge which the UAE government has undertaken by way of multiple youth-focused initiatives.”
From Royalties to internationally recognized leadership gurus, to distinguished policy makers, to inspiring CEOs, and to the most forward-thinking youth leaders in the region, the GOV Youth Summit has it all covered.
Arthur Carmazzi, World’s #1 Organizational Culture Guru comments on what type of development is required for today’s youth. “Academics intelligence are simply tools used to make an impact. But ultimately, it is creativity, attitude, humility, and the ability to connect with human beings that make the difference. So, if we are developing our youth, we need to focus on supporting them to be great leaders and better people by letting them make mistakes and find creative solutions to achieve their goals.”
