Abu Dhabi 24 December, 2018: The Abu Dhabi Department of Education and Knowledge (ADEK) is calling for 200 innovative projects from innovator teams all over the country, for the INNOVATOR 2019, fifth edition. The event is being held at the Abu Dhabi Corniche from the 31st January until the 9th of February, 2019. INNOVATOR 2019, as part of Abu Dhabi Science Festival, will create benchmarks for 21st Century technology: a key platform which celebrates creative ideas and projects, it offers an opportunity for talented visionaries from the UAE community to highlight their unique creations and contribute to the culture of innovation throughout the nation and fulfillment of the UAE’s strategy to position the UAE as one of the most innovative nations in the world. Salem Al Shamsi, ADEK’s Acting Knowledge Management and Education Analytics Director, confirmed: “This strategic initiative under ADEK's Innovation Strategy - INNOVATOR 2019 - has established itself as a unique platform for innovation and competition, where more than 200 innovators aged 13 and above across the UAE, will demonstrate their talent and showcase their home grown projects in five categories.” “For the 2019 edition, we are anticipating ground-breaking innovative ideas from the UAE community, as we look forward to nurturing and growing the future generation and encourage the spirit of innovation. We call upon all innovators in the country to join us, enroll, inspire and aspire,” he continued. INNOVATOR 2019 will unveil creative ideas, remarkable projects, and hands-on interactive experimentation with new innovations, coupled with workshops, presentations specialized in various fields and live shows. An experienced judging panel will then gear up to select the “Most Distinctive Projects” for 2019. ADEK encourages individuals, companies and all those who have been able to build a robot, design a program, modify cars or produce artistic, musical or electronic work to participate in INNOVATOR 2019, which will be accepting contributions from different fields inclusive of Automotive (Automotive, Mechanics and Digital Fabrication), Aerospace, Robotics (Robotics and Electronics), Sustainability (Sustainability and Life Sciences), Art (Art and Design) and People's choice. INNOVATOR event was launched in 2014, with the objective of offering participants a platform to present the projects and prototypes they delivered as individuals or as school projects, engage with peers who share the interests and exchange ideas and knowledge.
