Dubai - UAE: 20 June 2017: As part of sustained efforts in line with the UAE Year of Giving and reflecting the spirit of solidarity during the Holy Month of Ramadan, Awqaf and Minors Affairs Foundation (AMAF) is distributing Iftar meals to laborers in select locations in Dubai in the vicinity of labor camps throughout the month. In collaboration with a popular restaurant, a dedicated team from AMAF is coordinating the distribution of 400 iftar meals daily to fasting laborers at Bilal Mosque and Al Aref Mosque. His Excellency Tayeb Al-Rais, Secretary General of Awqaf and Minors Affairs Foundation, said: “The Holy Month of Ramadan is the perfect opportunity to express our appreciation to these blue-collar workers for their significant efforts that make a vital contribution to the UAE’s development.” He added: “Distributing Iftar meals is one of our community outreach initiatives that help AMAF to meet the demands of minority social segments and ensure that the country remains an inclusive oasis of generosity and benevolence to all people, everywhere.” The project is executed as part of AMAF’s Ramadan initiatives that include distributing Mir Ramadan to needy families, organizing a Ramadan Majlis on endowment, and launching a campaign to support the Salma Humanitarian Relief Program in providing 100 percent halal, ready-to-eat meals to victims of conflicts and natural disasters across the globe.
