Dubai-UAE: 11 January, 2017: Dubai South signed strategic Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with the Dubai Land Department (DLD) regarding the registration of freehold plots and properties by investors at Dubai South. The agreement was signed by His Excellency Sultan Butti Bin Mejren, Director General of Dubai Land Department and His Excellency Khalifa Al Zaffin, Executive Chairman, Dubai Aviation City Corporation and Dubai South. Under the terms of the agreement Dubai South and DLD seek to structure and develop their relationship and strengthen shared interests, towards achieving closer cooperation and coordination between them. His Excellency Sultan Butti Bin Mejren, Director General of Dubai Land Department said: “We are delighted to cooperate with Dubai South, and to provide all possible means of support for promoting its projects and completing them in a timely fashion. We believe that Dubai South’s operations and development sites will be of utmost importance to our preparations for Expo 2020, and that government institution collaboration is crucial to achieving the ambitious national agenda inspired by the vision of His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice President and Prime Minister of the UAE and Ruler of Dubai.” His Excellency Khalifa Al Zaffin, Executive Chairman, Dubai Aviation City Corporation and Dubai South said: “The signing of the agreement with the Dubai Land Department supports our continuous efforts in enhancing the level of service we offer all investors at Dubai South. It allows us to benefit from DLD’s world-class systems and expertise in real estate regulation, further enhancing the cooperation and exchange of experiences between Dubai South and DLD, which serve to advance the development and growth of Dubai South.” With the agreement in place, DLD will accept the registration of freehold apartments, plots and properties purchased by investors in Dubai South. And is responsible for the collection of the full amount of the freehold plots registration, transfer and cancellation fees from these investors.
