New Indian Ambassador visits Conares plant in JAFZA, Dubai

Dubai, UAE, January 5, 2017: His Excellency Navdeep Singh Suri, the new Ambassador of India to the UAE, visited the headquarters and facilities of Conares, the second largest steel manufacturer in the Emirates, in Jebel Ali Free Zone (JAFZA) recently.

The Indian Ambassador was received by Mr. Bharat Bhatia, CEO of Conares. “We are honoured to welcome Ambassador Navdeep Suri in our office. Conares is a key player in steel manufacturing and trading for both the global and regional suppliers,” Mr. Bhatia said.

Being the only private steel manufacturer in the gulf region, Conares is one of the biggest success stories of Indian companies in the UAE, and plays a key role in furthering the growth of the steel industry in the region.

The Conares steel plant covers an area of over 1.5 million square feet, and is on track to manufacture 1 million metric tons of steel. This represents 15 per cent of the UAE market share in their specific steel segments. Conares, a US$ 300 million worth company, is operational in two major segments of the industry.
