Dubai, UAE, May 22, 2016: The International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA) in cooperation with DHA and Shaikh Hamdan Bin Rashid Award For Medical Science organized a Regional Training Course on PET/CT with focus on CT Interpretation and TNM Staging. Dr Jamila Al Suwaidi, medical physicist, chair of radiation committee at the DHA and director of the patient radiation safety project, said: “The training course includes training on use of the most sophisticated techniques in nuclear medicine and molecular imaging for diagnosis and treatment of cancer diseases, and it opens horizons for exchange of new information related to progress of Nuclear medicine in oncology field.” Al Suwaidi said so far 912 specialists have been trained in this field from UAE and other countries in GCC and Middle East. “ This course is very important to help technicians precisely follow the right method of imaging and ensure accurate diagnosis and patient safety.” The course began today and will take plaxe until the 26th of May. The participants are from Jordan, Iraq, UAE,Oman, Yeman, Lebanon and Syria. There are 3 IAEA speakers from Denmark, German and Italy in addition to multiple local speakers who are going to contribute in educational and training activities.
