du Football Champions UAE Schools and Streets Cups Kick off in Northern Emirates

• UAE Schools & Streets Cups kick off in Northern Emirates this week
• 200 teams across Northern Emirates will participate with 120 teams in the UAE Schools Cup and 80 teams in the UAE Streets Cup

Sharjah, UAE - January 13, 2016 - The du Football Champions, home of the UAE Schools & Streets Cup announced its Northern Emirates kick off today, releasing the group make-up of teams in this leg of the initiative.

duFC is the only platform offering young footballers the opportunity for an international football career through a unique scouting program in partnership with LaLiga.  Extending the reach of this initiative to the youth in the Northern Emirates region provides them with equal opportunities to play their favourite sport at international standards. 

Commenting on the Norther Emirates initiative, Fahad Al Hassawi, Chief Commercial Officer du, said, “The tremendous positive response amongst our nation’s youth to the du Football Championships continues to motivate us, at du, to amplify our efforts in nurturing the future leaders of tomorrow. Our endeavours to gather the country’s football enthusiasts through this grassroots platform has empowered these young men and women with the tools to achieve their football ambitions. Our goal to change the face of youth football in the UAE is coming to fruition and we anticipate the breath-taking action to continue as we take du Football Championships to the Northern Emirates and the rest of the UAE.”

More than 2000 youth have registered their interest from schools and streets teams in the Northern Emirates region.   The tournament kicks off on 16th January at the Al Hamriya Club which boasts some of the best football pitches in the region.

Michel Salgado, Championship Director said, “We have heard some great things about the skill-level of players from the Northern Emirates and look forward to seeing the youth from this region on the pitches.”

The Technical Committee of du Football Champions (duFC), announced the official draw, format of play and group formations for UAE Schools Cup and the UAE Streets Cup Northern Emirates leg.  For group details visit www.dufc.ae.

Hussein Murad, CEO Inspiratus, who have organized the initiative commented, “The Abu Dhabi leg of this initiative was a tremendous success and we look forward to a great kick off in Northern Emirates, followed by Dubai and the UAE finals.  We have already spotted some great talents in Abu Dhabi and encourage the youth across Northern Emirates and Dubai to come out and play their best football.  We invite all families, schools and other youth to join the kick off. The youth need your encouragement and support as the stakes are high.”

Hundreds of schools and thousands of youth will compete for the Grand Prizes which include an all-expenses paid 14-day trip to Spain with LaLiga for training and competitive matches with Spain’s best youth football clubs. Top players will also have the opportunity to be scouted to become professional players with one of the clubs in LaLiga.

In parallel to the games, there is an exciting entertainment program in place for families, friends and the community including competitions with valuable prizes, courtesy of du and Chevrolet.
