MECTW's ‘Excellence Awards 2015' honours UAE's Hospitality & FM Industries

• 9 Housekeeping & FM Personnel across several of UAE’s top hotels & companies win the coveted Excellence Awards across 3 categories

4^th November, 2015, Dubai, United Arab Emirates: The Excellence Awards brought together UAE’s hospitality industry, to honour the painstaking efforts of the housekeeping staff. The Middle East Cleaning Technology Week played host to these awards that identified the ‘difference makers’ in the hospitality & FM industries. The awards witnessed overwhelming participation with a healthy number of nominations received for the Excellence Awards 2015.

The 2015 edition of the Excellence Awards included three main award categories, Housekeeping, Soft-Services FM, Laundry, which were further divided into sub-categories - supervisors and attendants in each. A new award, ‘The Innovation Award’ has also been introduced under each main category.

“It was an impressive experience. The scale of the entrants and nominations we received was overwhelming, boosting us to introducing the ‘Innovation Award’ under each category. Finally, we narrowed it down to 20 nominees across the three categories. On Wednesday evening, a winner and runner-up was picked from each category,” commented Tatjana Ahmed, Housekeeping Manager, Grand Hyatt, who is also the Chairlady of the UAE Professional Housekeepers Group

The winners are as follow: Soft services FM attendant-HomnathRajbanshi, Housekeeping Attendant, Emrill Services LLC(winner),Soft services FM team leader- Syed Abdul Jaleel, Facilities SupervisorSoft Services, Al Shirawi Facilities Management; Laundry Attendants - Najar Mohammed, Dry Cleaner, Jumeirah Emirates Towers; Laundry Team Leader - Antonio P. Ordes, Laundry Supervisor, Pullman Deira City Center; Housekeeping Room Attendants - PhurbePakhrin, Housekeeping Room Attendant, Al Qasr Hotel - Madinat Jumeirah, Housekeeping Room Team Leader - Prakash Paudel, Housekeeping Team Leader, Grand Hyatt Residence Dubai; Housekeeping Public Area Attendants - Sayedi Abdul Kader, Housekeeping Attendant, The Palace Hotel Downtown Dubai, Housekeeping Public Area Team Leader - Muhammad Saeed Akhalak, Housekeeping Supervisor, The Palace Hotel Downtown; Innovation Award - Mary CrystAyap, Assistant Manager Housekeeping, Grand Hyatt Dubai. 

The three day exhibition came to an end on Wednesday at the Dubai International Convention and Exhibition Centre. Work has begun in full swing for next year’s expo, which is expected to grow by 30 per cent. Moreover MECTW is all set to grow; the next edition will play host to additional fragments of the cleaning and hygiene industry.  

“MECTW was a resounding success. With a large amount of business conducted it was beneficial to all our stakeholders. There have been advances in every vertical of the cleaning and hygiene industry, and through the expo we have generated awareness about innovations in the sector. Next year, MECTW is set to grow, as we will include new fragments of the cleaning industry in the exhibition,” commented Jayaraman Nair, Chairman -VIS Exhibitions and Conferences. 

Middle East Cleaning Technology Week was a brilliant success with several visitors and exhibitors from around the world attending and participating in the exhibition. Thousands of visitors attended the three day expo, and also partook in the International Cleaning and Hygiene Conference, the Gulf Laundrex Conference and Gulf Car Wash Car Care Conference.
