‘Flower Power' bursts into bloom at Burjuman Centre

Floral exhibits, workshops and kids craft areas will bring mall to life this summer

Dubai,  UAE 13th July  2015: BurJuman Centre will put its ‘petal’ to the metal on July 21st with the launch of a limited-time, ‘Flower Power’ fest featuring a kaleidoscope of floral displays, workshops for adults and a kids craft area, all designed to celebrate the floral form in all its glory.

Visitors to the mall are invited to stroll through and interact with over 100 floral installations, including the ‘Singing Plants” - a  garden  of  hanging greenery housed in pots. All the plants will be connected to a main sound system,  so  that  shoppers  can  stroll  through  while  each  plant  serenades
guests with its unique song.

The “Musical Stairs,” will also entertain shoppers with soothing sounds. In  this  case  an  entire  stairway  will  be  transformed  into  a  piano,  so  that shoppers can run up and down the stairs creating their own songs.  Finally, the ‘Magical Night Garden” will be housed in a colourful cave where a garden  with  glowing  blooms  and  bulbs  will  entice  visitors  to  relax  and enjoy the experience.

On a more creative front, daily workshops for children in the Kids Activity Area will cater to the artistic pursuits of BurJuman’s junior shoppers with a Floral Princess Make-over activity and, arts and crafts galore.  Parents are  invited  to  register  their  children  on  site  at  the  Kids  Activity  Area  to participate.  Workshops will run each day of the festival.

For adult shoppers that are more ‘hands on,’ intimate weekly workshops will  be  held  throughout  the  festival.  Workshops  will  include:  lessons  on the  art  of  Japanese  Flowering  Arranging  (Ikebana);  floral-inspired  cake decorating; and expert instruction on how to paint, draw and photograph flowers Ela Eldem, Head of Marketing, BurJuman Centre, is excited about bringing Flower Power to the mall for the first time. “As Henri Matisse once said:

“There are always flowers for those who want to see them.” We think everyone  needs  a  bit  of  a  lift  during  the  summer,  and  everyone  enjoys flowers -they symbolize new growth, elegance and beauty, all of which BurJuman  Centre  embodies  as  well.    We  encourage  BurJuman  Centre shoppers to bring their families and get involved.”

Shoppers are encouraged to snap photos of the nstallations, workshops and kids activities and    upload    them    on    Instagram    with    the #BurJumanFlowerPower hasthag for entry into a Flower Power Photography competition. The  fest  will  also  feature  weekly  weekend  piano  concerts  in  the  Food Court  Area.
