This Ramadan, the Sheraton Dubai Mall of the Emirates Hotel is providing the perfect scene to reconnect and strengthen relationships with family and friends from sunset to sunrise. Setting the theme is the new 11x10 meter Arabic Star chandelier in the hotel lobby creating a spectacular flow of light transitioning from outside to the warm interiors of the hotel. Created by Preciosa, a world leader in lighting design since 1724, the chandelier, inspired by the Arabian eight-sided star, reflects multiple sources of light, creating a mesmerizing effect by delicately guiding the viewer’s experience through the sculpture and in to the night sky. Weighing at a total of 1750 kilograms, the piece of art is inspired by the Arabian eight-pointed star, and is constructed using transparent and reflective glass diamond shapes, all strategically placed to represent a point in the star.

“The Holy month of Ramadan is an excellent time to reflect on what is important in our lives and to get in touch with our spirituality. It is a vital time to reconnect with others and to strengthen relationships with family and friends,” said Paul Dunphy, General Manager of the hotel.

“Our new Arabic Star, and the Arabic calligraphy poetry piece in the lobby, is our way of staying connected to the rich culture and heritage of this land and all that it offers us during this blessed time. We are delighted to be able to take part in treasured Ramadan moments, including hosting guests as they break their fasts at sunset,” added Dunphy.

The hotel’s new ‘heritage corner’ also features an extract of a poem by HH Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, about the GCC’s establishment in 1981, in exquisite Arabic calligraphy.
