Yas Island Rotana hosted a Charity Iftar for children of The Future Centre for Special Needs and their families to celebrate the Holy Month of Ramadan last week. The event kicked off with fun and games for the children – that saw anything from face painting, puzzles and the making of creative and colorful handicrafts; to musical chairs and competitions that had the kids up and running infused with energy and joy. It continued with breaking fast, where all joined in a traditional and lavishly prepared buffet; and finally culminated in a warm embrace – where all said our goodbyes, but not without first surprising them with wonderful gifts sponsored by Ferrari World Abu Dhabi and Sparky’s. “This is an incredibly special way for us to support such an important cause and fortify our ties with the local community”, said Mark Deere, General Manager of Yas Island Rotana & Centro Yas Island; “and the fact that 30 children left with a smile today, is the single biggest gift of this holy season”. Commenting on the volunteering spirit of the hotel staff, and the unwavering dedication and love of the children’s parents, one of the center’s dedicated staff, expressed how “at a time of the year when we are reminded of the importance of the human spirit, generosity and love, it was remarkable to see how it all came together”.
