Amartya Chakraborty has joined the Ramada Downtown Dubai as Executive Housekeeper, coming from Millennium Doha where he held a similar position.

An Indian national, Amartya gained a diploma in hotel management from the Institute of Advance Management, Kolkata, together with a degree in hospitality management from the Robert Gordon University in Aberdeen, UK, before beginning his career at the Oberoi Raj Vilas as a housekeeping associate.

He worked in a series of prestigious Indian hotels including the JW Marriott Mumbai, Oberoi Mumbai, Leela Kempinski and the Sheraton Bangalore at Brigade, gradually rising in position and experience.

Amartya moved to the Arabian Gulf last year to gain international experience, and now takes over the housekeeping department at the Ramada Downtown Dubai, where General Manager, Samir Arora, said his outstanding experience will be invaluable.

“The work of the housekeeping department is often unsung, but it is essential to the smooth operation of the hotel, ensuring the welfare and comfort of our guests,” he said. “I am delighted to welcome Amartya to the hotel where he will fill an indispensable role in overseeing the housekeeping team and keeping the hotel in pristine condition, ensuring everything is working well and guests have every facility in their rooms and public areas.”
