Vivaldi by Alfredo Russo to Re-open at Sheraton Dubai Creek Hotel & Towers

Dubai, United Arab Emirates; Culinary master chef Alfredo Russo is bringing his highly renowned cuisine to the shores of Dubai Creek, with Sheraton Dubai Creek Hotel & Towers announcing today that he will create the menu for its signature restaurant, now named Vivaldi by Alfredo Russo (Vivaldi.)

Vivaldi, which has long been considered one of Dubai’s best Italian restaurants since it opened in 2000, is currently undergoing a refurbishment, but will return on 9th April - in tandem with the re-opening of the hotel - delivering its renowned combination of authentic pan-Italian cuisine and excellent service. The restaurant will comprise a gourmet, casual traditional trattoria and trendy lounge menu that will be available all day, with signature dishes and beverages across all menus. They will draw heavily upon Alfredo Russo’s rich experience that he has gained through his accomplished career.

“Dubai is a well-known hub for excellent cuisine, but the Sheraton Dubai Creek Hotel & Towers offers more than simply good food: it brings true destination dining to the country’s culinary connoisseurs. Alfredo Russo’s food is certainly unique to the local area, and with the exquisite climate controlled terrace available all year offering stunning panoramic views of Dubai Creek and the skyline, as well as the unique location of the hotel, Vivaldi will elevate the Creek’s food offerings to new heights,” said Stuart Sage, Executive Chef, Sheraton Dubai Creek Hotel & Towers.

At the age of 22, following nearly a decade of hard work and an apprenticeship at three of Piedmont’s Michelin-starred restaurants where the cuisine is renowned for being innovative, Turin-native Russo opened Dolce Stil Novo. Three years of resolute work earned him his Michelin star in 1993, meaning he has held this highly esteemed accolade for over 20 years. Less than 12 months later he met the criteria to enter Jeunes Restaurateurs d’Europe. In 2004, the leading Italian culinary guide L’Espresso awarded Alfredo the title of Italy’s Best Young Chef thanks to the unquestionable culinary excellence at his restaurant Dolce Stil Novo.

In 2011, The American Academy of Hospitality Sciences awarded Alfredo Russo and the Dolce Stil Novo Restaurant with the International Five Star Diamond Award, followed by being declared as one of finest Italian chefs by Italian Touring Club in 2013.

Russo strives to continuously challenge rituals and predominant habits, behaviours and conditions of the Italian and human culture in general. His ambition is to widen the understanding and appreciation of the essence of quality in Italian food, in virtue of a new approach.

“I am delighted to be working with the new team at Sheraton Dubai Creek Hotel & Towers and building on the foundation of a fantastic venue that is rich in history. The hotel and restaurant both have a very strong reputation and loyal following with the local market, and I am thrilled to have the opportunity to give the existing and new customers a taste of Italian cuisine the way I see it.” Alfredo Russo, Executive Chef, Dolce Stil Novo

This is the second time that Alfredo is working with Starwood Hotels & Resorts; he currently consults on the menu of Rossini’s at the Sheraton Grande Sukhumvit in Bangkok, A Luxury Collection hotel.

Vivaldi by Alfredo Russo will re-open on 9th April 2014, and bookings can be made via http://www.sheratondubaicreek.com/
