Toyota Emirates Drifting Team maintains its lead at the top of the Drift UAE Championship

United Arab Emirates, Dubai, March 4th 2014: Toyota Emirates Drifting Team, led by Ahmed Al Ameri, clinched 3rd position at Round 3 of Drift UAE after an exciting sideways show which took place at the Emirates Motorplex Race Track, Um Al Quwain on the 1st of March.

As a result of the points that Al Ameri has accumulated from the first 3 rounds, he currently sits in top position and is now the number one contender to regain the UAE Drift King title he last won during the 2011/12 season.

Al Ameri said: “Today’s result is great for the team’s overall standing in the championship. The opportunity to regain the prestigious title of UAE Drift King is now only two rounds away”.

He added: “The race this weekend was tougher than usual. We faced some technical issues during the race but the team was fully geared up and quickly identified and overcame them so we could complete the race,” commented Al Ameri.

Al Ameri: “Leading the championship this season is a result of the continued support of Al-Futtaim Motors, Toyota. With their support we plan to improve our performance in round 4 and hopefully move a little closer to the UAE Drift King title.”

Toyota EDT is also supported by Maxxis Tires which provides Toyota EDT with Maxxis Z1 Drift professional tires, Extreme Performance and Emirates Motorsports Technologies for their technical support and supervision.
