Sovereign promotes the art of gifting art

In response to public interest and widespread queries, Sovereign is currently promoting the concept of ‘Art as Gifts', with personalised guidance and consultancy for individual and corporate customers. The Dubai-based art gallery has unveiled a large catalogue of Modern and Contemporary Indian art by some of India's most renowned artists - in a wide array of styles, sizes, and prices. A dedicated team will also guide interested buyers in the process of carefully choosing art: as a unique gift for friends and family, or to thank notable clients or customers. “Buying art as a gift for someone else can be considered an art form by itself,” explains Dadiba Pundole, owner and curator of Sovereign. “For several people, a variety of pre-conceived notions may make buying art appear daunting. In reality though, a combination of information, education, and guidance can make a world of difference – especially to first-time buyers. Our aim is simply to guide them through the process, until they find the perfect gift.” Pundole adds that gifting art in appreciation or commemoration is a popular custom around the world, but it is yet to bloom in the UAE.

Prices start at AED 1,800/-, with the larger and more reputed works going up to AED 365,000/- Sovereign is an organic expansion of India's famed 50-year-old Pundole Art Gallery (PAG) - in the UAE and into the Middle East. The gallery is currently exhibiting ‘MAQBOOL', a carefully curated collection of 25 self-portraits by MF Husain, to commemorate the renowned artist's birth centenary.
