Dubai –21 November 2013: The world's largest strategy and management competition, the UAE Global Management Challenge, announced today that it has entered into a collaboration with UNi Magazine, the leading monthly university magazine targeted at students across the UAE, as a strategic media partner. “Initially, UNi Magazine was created to initiate dialogue and sharing of views and news between students from various universities in the UAE in an effort to challenge them, nudge them even and have them constantly intrigued and positively challenged,” said Mr. Ali Sabbagh, CEO & editor-in-chief of UNi Magazine, Alias Publishing. “We're pleased that Global Management Challenge is aligned with our vision. Meanwhile, as we're committed to promoting education in the region, we are optimistic that this worthy Competition will get its deserved success, as it introduces students and academia at large to a truly innovative learning opportunity.” The UAE Global Management Challenge consists of a management simulation in which teams of 3 to 5 people, comprising university students and corporates, are given complete control of a virtual company with the objective of obtaining the highest investment performance for its shareholders. Competitors analyse financial and economic indicators, expand their views on corporate strategy, interact with functional areas of a company and gain an in-depth understanding of the market conditions in which their companies compete. “This is an important alignment for us and we are excited to connect with the avid readers of UNi Magazine,” said Mian Muneer Uddin, Managing Partner of Beaufort Associates, the consulting and advisory services firm that brought the Global Management Challenge to the UAE. The Challenge was officially launched in September this year and is aligned with the UAE's vision of Emiratisation. The Competition encourages professionals and students to participate and a special track for UAE nationals is under review. The winning team, or ‘UAE Champions', will then compete with counterparts from several countries for the world title, to be held in Sochi, Russia in April 2014.
