The BIG 5 Dubai: A key stage in the strategic approach of the french construction industry in the Middle East

You don't change a winning team! France will be returning in force to the BIG 5, the international building and construction show that opens in Dubai on 25 November 2013. Year after year, this event is the place to be to meet the best contacts in the industry. Its success continues unabated with a 21.4 % increase in the attendance figures at the last edition. Nearly 40 French companies will be present at the pavilion organised by UBIFRANCE, the French Agency for International Business Development.

BIG 5 2012 included over 60,000 visitors and 2,371 exhibitors from 65 countries.

Whilst much of the show's success is owed to the quality of the event, there is another critical element: the Middle East's importance for building and construction companies. Saudi Arabia's investment in new construction - estimated at 130 billion euros - fuels market interest as does another influential factor: 20 % annual growth in the sector in the United Arab Emirates.

France, the world's tenth largest exporter, enjoys a worldwide reputation for reliability and quality. It has been working on enhancing its presence in the region for several years, both in terms of positioning itself on large projects and distributing products on the market that never fail to incorporate new technologies.

UBIFRANCE, in partnership with the French Confédération Générale des PME de Rhône-Alpes (Rhône-Alpes General Confederation of SMEs), brings together a wide variety of high-quality products: wooden structures, composite membranes, materials, valves and fittings, carpentry, insulation, building and personal safety, building hardware, etc. It would be hard not to find the right solutions to the most diverse problems with these high-tech and environmentally-friendly products.

To heighten its profile amongst local operators, the French building industry is particularly keen to increase its participation in the region's major business events. It is taking part in the Project QATAR trade show and will also be present at SAUDI BUILD, which begins on 4 November 2013 in Riyadh.

France will have two separate pavilions once again this year:
- BIG 5: Hall 1 – Booths 1B31 to 1G36
- Middle East Concrete: Sheikh Saeed Hall – Booths MEC F81 to MEC G86
