 2nd September 2013, Dubai, UAE: The Scene Club, Dubai's monthly film club showcasing some of the best world independent cinema, returns this September and brings you THE HUNT by acclaimed Danish director Thomas Vinterberg. The Scene Club is also proud to announce its partnership for 2014 with Dubai Culture & Arts Authority (Dubai Culture), the Emirate's dedicated Authority for culture, arts and heritage, alongside the established collaboration with the Dubai International Film Festival. The screening will take place on Wednesday 11th September at 8pm at Dubai Knowledge Village Conference Centre. Guests are invited to arrive at 7pm to collect their pre-booked complimentary tickets and for an hour of networking with fellow film enthusiasts. Following a tough divorce, 40-year-old Lucas has a new girlfriend, a new job and is in the process of re-establishing his relationship with his teenage son, Marcus. But things go awry. Just a story, a random lie. And as the snow falls and the Christmas lights are lit, the lie spreads like a virus. The shock and mistrust get out of hand, and the small community suddenly finds itself in a collective state of hysteria, while Lucas fights a lonely fight for his life and dignity. THE HUNT is a disturbing depiction of how a lie becomes the truth when gossip, doubt and malice are allowed to flourish and ignite a witch-hunt that soon threatens to destroy an innocent man's life. “On a dark winter's night in 1999, there was a knock on my door. THE HUNT was nominated for the Cannes Palme d'Or in 2012 and for a BAFTA in 2013. It won several international prizes including Best Actor at Cannes Film Festival (for the role of Lucas played by acclaimed Danish actor Mads Mikkelsen), Best International Film at the British Independent Film Award, Best Screenwriter at the European Film Award, People's Choice Award at Vancouver International Film Festival and the Audience Award for Best Film at Leeds International Film Festival.

Rating: R18 Tickets are complimentary, however guests are required to pre-book them online at www.thesceneclub.com and then collect them from the club's Registration Desk at Dubai Knowledge Village Conference Centre from 7.00pm on the night of the screening. As seating is offered on “first come, first served” basis, guests are encouraged to arrive on time. The screening will start at 8pm and between 7pm and 8pm The Scene Club provides to all registered guests an hour of networking with free popcorns.
