Dubai, United Arab Emirates - May 12, 2019: Whilst some of UAE Team Emirates’ riders have launched their challenge at the first Grand Tour of the season - the Giro d’Italia - another team will be competing for silverware in the Sunshine State, as they compete at the Amgen Tour of California (12-18 May). With an average age of just 26-years-old, the team will be led by youngster, Tadej Pogacar who will be the team’s main protagonist in pursuit of the General Classification (GC). The Slovenian has been in good form for UAE Team Emirates this season, picking up the GC win at Volta ao Algarve em Bicicleta, as well as taking home first place in the Youth Classification at the Tour of the Basque Country. He will be supported by teammates Kristijan Durasek, Jasper Philipsen, Cristian Munoz, Roberto Ferrari, Rui Oliveira and Norwegian National Champion, Vegard Stake Laengen.
