In line with the International Day for Persons with Disabilities, the du Youth council held an enriching day at the Al Ain Zoo for children from the Zayed Higher Organisation for Humanitarian Care and Special Needs Dubai, UAE, 07 December, 2017: In light of International Day for Persons with Disabilities, the du Youth Council organised an volunteering activity exclusive for the youth at du at Al Ain Zoo with people of determination, from the Zayed Higher Organisation for Humanitarian Care and Special Needs. The children were given a tour around the zoo, and were able to visit the cinema at the Sheikh Zayed Desert Learning Centre. Throughout the day, the du Youth Council volunteers had the opportunity to engage with the children, and partake in activities that were enriching for all. The entry for the volunteers and children will be free of charge at Al Ain Zoo in honour of the cordial relationship of the two organizations maintain on social media. “At du, we are vested in engaging with our local community, and we can think of no better way to honour International Day for Persons with Disabilities than by organising this volunteering day at Ain Zoo, with people of determination in the UAE. It was a wonderful day, which was enjoyed by all involved, and it was incredibly inspiring not just for the children, but also for everyone who volunteered”, said Abdulwahed Juma, Executive Vice President Brand & Corporate Communications. The du Youth Council was specifically created to empower UAE youth through ICT, the Council is a platform that will enable young emirates to unlock their full career potential. It is aligned with the vision of the UAE to empower and support young Emiratis and engage them in a national quest for excellence and ultimate success.
