Global Village's award for Media Excellence, and Mostafa Abdul Azim won Global Village's award for Media Creativity

Dubai, April 22, 2017:  Anjana Kumar from GN Xpress Newspaper went on to win Best Coverage in English Publications, Derek Baldwin of Gulf News won Best Article in an English publication, Prince B. Naiyer from Malyalam Manorama won Best Coverage in Asian Media while Firos Khan won Best Article in the Asian Media category. Christopher Maxwell from Time Out Dubai won the award for Best Coverage of a Global Village Experience and Faisal Bin Ahmed from Asianet News won the Best TV Coverage award. Khaleej Times won the award for Media Innovation in Online Coverage. 

“Media plays a big role in communicating our vision and highlighting our achievements to our visiting guests - they are our voice and we recognize that. For this reason, we thank all journalists, photographers, and media publications who have contributed to the success of the recent season of Global Village. The media awards for the 21st season has received many new and interesting entries from media representatives who have played a vital role in highlighting the essence of Global Village over the 159-day period,” Ahmad Hussain added.

The ceremony concluded with recognition of Global Village’s partners in success. These partners encompassed various investors who stood out in their presentation of innovative ideas that showcased the variety in the cultures, foods, and heritage of the 75 countries represented in Global Village’s pavilions. India pavilion won the ‘Best Pavilion’ award for its exceptional offerings of cultural and entertainment experiences that were enjoyed by millions of Global Village’s guests.  Egypt Pavilion won the award for ‘Best Pavilion Façade’ for its remarkable display of the country’s rich heritage. Pakistan Pavilion won the award for ‘Best Organized Concert’ for hosting Atif Aslam who attracted tens of thousands of fans. The ‘Best Pavilion Initiative’ award was awarded to Morocco Pavilion for their unique heritage corner that hosted the most unique craftsmen in a very interactive and cultural educational manner, while the ‘Best Pavilion Cultural Show’ was awarded to the India Pavilion. No categories were left unrecognized, as dining and retail were given their due credit for the enjoyable entertaining atmosphere they contributed towards creating. Yuki No Hana was awarded the ‘Best Kiosk’ for its delicious Japanese desserts that were enjoyed by Global Village’s guests and Sadaf was awarded ‘Best Restaurant’ for their distinguished performance. Sama Arafa Kitchen kiosk, which served Emirati traditional food also won under the Best SME category. 

The ‘Escape Hunt’ outlet won the ‘Best Outlet’ category for the game that required precise decision making to escape the maze.

Global Village will open its 22nd Season on the 1st of November, 2017, and looks forward to welcoming families to another season of 158 days for fantastic experiences ending on the 7th of April 2018. The registration for sponsors and investors is currently open online for Global Village 2017-2018
