Global Village says “#ThankUShkMohd” and Salutes His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum across the park grounds

Marks 10th Anniversary of Accession as Ruler of Dubai with banners, branding, celebratory flags, tweets and special staff t-shirts

Dubai: Monday 4th January, 2016: Global Village has transformed the look of the region’s leading outdoor tourism attraction to salute the 10th anniversary of the accession of His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, UAE Vice President and Prime Minister to the position of Ruler of Dubai.

Global Village has placed a series of celebratory banners, posters, streamers, is playing commemorative videos and created anniversary staff t-shirts as the park joins in the nationwide #ThankUShkMohd initiative that marks today’s 10th anniversary.

Visitors to the park were greeted by 50 “thank you” flags at the new Gate of the World; while the main façade of the Globe Office building of Global Village, facing Sheikh Mohammed bin Zayed road,  was adorned with His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum’s picture as well as the campaign slogan.

Famous quotes from His Highness were displayed on the screens at the main stage featuring many of the core themes associated with the past decade including leadership, visionary statements and the mix of traditional and modern that has created contemporary Dubai. The main stage was also decorated with giant banners of the campaign slogan.

A number of special celebration tweets have been created to recognise the 10th anniversary; videos have been broadcast featuring Global  Village staff from different nationalities who wanted to deliver their own “thank you” messages in recognition and appreciation to His Highness,  while all staff selling or checking tickets were decked out in special celebration t-shirts for the occasion.

Global Village is Dubai’s leading family entertainment and cultural destination with a unique shopping experience at 32 pavilions each representing a different culture. The 20th season of Global Village, 2015-2016, launched on the 3rd of November 2015 and will stay open until the 9th of April 2016 and is expecting more than 5 million guests.
