Fearless Female: Champion Breitling pilot makes Middle East debut at the 2015 World Air Games
  • Two-time world aerobatics champion, Aude Lemordant to compete in the Middle East for the first time

Dubai, December 2nd 2015: Breitling’s female flying sensation and two-time world aerobatics champion, Aude Lemordanthas made her Middle East flying debut at the 2015 World Air Games in Dubai. The first woman ever to fly under the Breitling colours, the young French pilot is competing for the title in the Powered Aerobatics category (1-8December) at the Skydive Dubai venue. 

A four-time French champion (2011-2014), Lemordant entered the world of aerobatic competitions in 2005 and rose swiftly through the ranks. Also an airline pilot flying Boeing 777s, she was crowned world champion in individual, freestyle and team categories during competitions that took place in Texas in 2013 - a feat she repeated this summer in Chateauroux, France,  at the controls of her Extra 330SC, sporting its personalized Breitling livery. 

Speaking ahead of the World Air Games in Dubai, Aude Lemordantsaid: “I have competed all over the world but this is my first time to come and fly in the Middle East. The UAE has a very strong presence on the global aviation scene and I am honoured to have the opportunity to compete here while flying for a legendary brand that has contributed so much to the development of aeronautics.”

Commenting on Lemordant’s participation, Aed Adwan, Breitling Middle East, said: “Aude embodies what Breitling stands for. She isa world class aviation professional who’s precision and technical flying abilities have brought her to the top of her game. We are proud to bring her to Dubai for the 2015 World Air Games and to give fans the chance to see her in action in the region.”

With 7,000 flying hours, Lemordant’s aerobatic feats and her professionalism as a long-haul airline pilotperfectly embody the aeronautical world. She is characterized by her accomplishments, performance and a determination to transcend capabilities, qualities of that remain at the core of Breitling.

Further reinforcing Breitling’s presence at the games will be the attendance of the world-famous Breitling Wingwalkers, the world’s only aerobatic formation wingwalking team. Additionally, Breitling is the designated global sponsor and ‘Official Watch’ of the Fédération Aéronautique Internationale (FAI) under whose rules the World Air Games are conducted.
