Helping others takes countless forms, from giving money to charity to helping a stranger.

Ramadan is a special time of year when the focus on community, charity, fasting, and prayer inspires all. Giving makes people happier and happier people give more. Once again, the awaited and blessed month of Ramadan is here to witness the magic of what transpires when people come together.

Believing that ‘No act of kindness, no matter how small it is, is ever wasted’, in community spirits’, SynergY youth led by the founder Simran Vedvyas, supported by Dubai Municipality Waste Management Department have arranged the Convoy to Feed 2015 this Ramadan. In the first giving on 12th July 2015, over 300 scrap collection labors, DM staff & labors working at Ghusais landfill site will benefit by the Iftar Meals distribution that will include Biryani, laban, fresh juices, biscut packets, and water. Eng. Naji Al Radhi and Eng. Sadin Al Falasi, from the Dubai Municipality appreciated the community service and initiative taken by the young and determined SynergY members.

Generously supporting the cause Choithrams, Shrey Sahaj and Barakat Quality Plus LLC have also joined hands with SynergY boosting the initiative with strength enduring to benefit workers during this holy month.

SynergY has distributed over 1000 food packets to workers at landfill sites during 2013-2014. Simran as the founder has been instrumental in promoting humanitarian causes and finds joy in visiting Missionaries of Charity and Leprosy center every year supporting children suffering from Leprosy and mental challenges with her savings and part of the award money that she wins. She is UAE’s Youth Ambassador to World Peace Caravan advocating Peace and health for all especially children in war affected areas

Simran is chosen as the Splash ‘Heart of Gold’unsung hero that embodies the true spirit of giving during the holy month of Ramadan. This is a tribute to her unconditional devotion, caring and efforts that selflessly reach out to the cause of humanity.

In her words- “It is easy to sit up and take notice. What is difficult is getting up and taking action. Love and kindness are never wasted. They always make a difference."

In a world where there is so much to be done, she feels strongly impressed that there is something for her to do always. She continues to add “I chose Dubai Municipality landfill sites because we have planted thousands of trees in the past few years at some of the landfills and understood how much of hard work these people do for us and this would be our way to express gratitude and share time with them during the holy month of Ramadan.”
