McDonald's demonstrates how small acts of kindness can contribute to better communities this Ramadan

Dubai, July 1, 2015: This Ramadan, McDonald’s UAE is launching a campaign to inspire people to spread kindness through simple but thoughtful deeds that could have significant positive impact on other people’s lives and communities at large. Using the #SpreadKindness hashtag, McDonald’s is sharing inspirations of good deeds and encouraging the public to do the same.

Under the same theme, McDonald’s produced four children’s books in cooperation with Beit Al Khair that will be sold for charity across its restaurants in the UAE and 30 animated stories that will run daily on MBC1 throughout the Holy month. All these stories aim to inspire the public that it is not about the size of their good deeds, but that merely making a little effort to help others can make a huge difference in the community.

“We are privileged to be in a community where doing good is an integral part of people’s daily lives. This Ramadan, we are encouraging this spirit with our #SpreadKindness campaign and helping parents pass it on to their children through our books and animated TV episodes, which will also be available on our website,” said Rafic Fakih, Partner and Managing Director of McDonald’s UAE.

He also honoured Abdeen Al-Awadi, Executive Director of Bait Al Khair for his permanent partnership with McDonald’s UAE since 5 years.

The four special books will be available for purchase at all McDonald’s restaurants in the UAE. Each book will be selling for 5 Dirham, and all proceeds will go to support educating orphans through our partner charities for this year: Bait Al Khair”, Rafic Fakih added.
