COVID-19 Vaccination is Now Available at Zulekha Hospital Sharjah Free of Charge

United Arab Emirates, 13 January 2021:  For the benefit of the Greater Community, this service is being offered at “free of cost” to everyone holding a valid Emirates ID. As you are aware the SARS-CoV-2 vaccine from Sinopharm is inactivated registered vaccine in the UAE which provides acquired immunity against COVID-19. Moreover, this vaccine will be given in term of two doses with an interval 21 – 28 days between the first & second doses.

Based on initial results of phase 3 trials have shown it has an overall efficacy of 86%. The analysis also shows the vaccine to have 99% seroconversion rate of neutralizing antibody and 100% effectiveness in preventing moderate and severe cases of the disease.  It showed no serious safety concerns till date.

Zulekha Hospital Sharjah started this CSR initiative last 3rd of January. A total of 300 people have been vaccinated as in the first three days of vaccination.

Mr. Philip Jacob, 49 years old working in a Pharmaceutical company was very happy to express his thought after getting his vaccine “I feel happy and safe now, I will definitely inform my family members and friends to go for vaccination at the earliest. Thanks to Zulekha Hospital for this initiative”; and Ms. Dinah Argonza, 39 years old from Philippines said, “Covid-19 Pandemic has brought fear in each of us and now the vaccine has come and it has lifted the fear and anxiety. I’m very happy that I got vaccinated and thanks to Zulekha Hospital.”

Dr. Pramod Chhabrani, Specialist Medical Microbiology and Infection Control Doctor at Zulekha Hospital shared his thought about the Covid-19 Vaccine, “COVID-19 vaccination is the best & most successful medical intervention. It can help to protect you by creating an antibody response in your body without getting you sick with COVID-19. It also might help to protect people around you from COVID-19 infection by providing herd immunity.”

Covid-19 Pandemic has created heaps of chaos in individual lives and as the New Year comes, new hope is bestowed upon us, through this Covid-19 Vaccine.
