UAE Ministry of Health & Prevention meets representatives from public & private healthcare centers & pharmaceutical companies

UAE, November 7, 2016- H.E. Dr. Amin Hussein Al Amiri, Assistant Undersecretary of the UAE Ministry of Health and Prevention’s Public Policy and Licensing Sector, expressed his keenness to satisfy customers and boost their confidence by providing them with effective and efficient service. He said that customers are an important partner in the development of the Ministry’s services and should thus be helped by improving the standard of healthcare services by assessing their level of satisfaction. Including raising the happiness customer index and achieving the Ministry values in professional, customer first, sustainability, teamwork, integration, creativity.

H.E. Dr. Al Amiri made the statement following his meeting with several pharmaceutical companies and representatives of private hospitals and healthcare centers at the Ministry’s headquarters in Dubai in line with ‘Ya Marhba Bkom’ initiative. The campaign is an agreement between the Ministry and the UAE’s pharmaceutical sector to extend support to patients by speeding up all administrative procedures. The strategic partnership between both parties is based on the directives of H.E. Abdul Rahman Mohammed Al Owais, UAE Minister of Health and Prevention.

The Undersecretary mentioned that during the meeting, they discussed new technology for the autonomous production of fiber from human blood which can be reused for surgical procedures in hospitals within the first eight hours. The fiber can be frozen for up to three weeks and re-used when needed. In addition, the group brainstormed on product registration procedures within the Ministry’s Drug Administration Department.

Explaining further, H.E. Dr. Al Amiri said the meeting dealt with the prices of some pharmaceutical products from leading local drug companies, “The Second Emirates International Conference on Combating Drug Counterfeiting” to be held in mid-2017, and the re-evaluation of medical practitioners who hold degrees from Eastern Europe. Moreover, he said that they talked about the use of electronic or ‘smart’ systems for the majority of licensing procedures for pharmaceutical and medical staff in different disciplines.

The Undersecretary elaborated about the Ministry’s consistency in developing health policy and legislation in the UAE and provided updates on multiple services provided by the Public Policy and Licensing sector, particularly in healthcare advertising, as well as medical and pharmaceutical licenses. This is aimed at licensing medical practitioners along with medical and pharmaceutical facilities and he requested the relevant departments to deal with the recommendations in accordance with the Ministry’s procedures.
