SEHA achieves impressive ICV Score Strengthening its Contribution to National Economy
The National ICV Program aims to strengthen local supply chains as well as promote sustainability and advanced technology adoption
Abu Dhabi-UAE: 25 January 2024 – The Abu Dhabi Health Services Company (SEHA), a subsidiary of PureHealth, the largest healthcare platform in the Middle East, has achieved a remarkable National In-Country Value (ICV) score, positioning SEHA as the highest ICV certified healthcare company in the program.
The ICV score, a pillar of the National ICV Program initiated by the Ministry of Industry and Advanced Technology (MoIAT), reflects a company's contribution to the national economy through local spending, workforce investment, and manufacturing capabilities.
SEHA's high achieved score demonstrates its commitment to the UAE's economic prosperity and alignment with Operation 300bn, the national strategy for MoIAT that aims to boost the UAE industrial sector’s contribution to Gross Domestic Product (GDP).
Commenting on the achievement, Shaista Asif, Group Chief Executive Officer of PureHealth, said: “We are proud to be recognised as a pivotal force in the UAE's healthcare sector, substantially strengthening the national economy. This distinction reflects our deep commitment to expanding beyond healthcare boundaries, driving change, and upholding national objectives. We aim to set a benchmark for peers, encouraging them to enhance services and align with national ambitions as we embed the ICV framework into all our operations.”
Saeed Al Kuwaiti, Chief Executive Officer of SEHA, said: “SEHA has consistently demonstrated an unwavering dedication to delivering exceptional healthcare services, leaving an undeniable impact on the communities it serves. Its recognition as one of the UAE’s top contributors to the national economy demonstrates our alignment with and support to the government’s vision and efforts to reinforce the local industry.”
In 2023 PureHealth signed a memorandum of understanding with the Department of Health – Abu Dhabi to join the National ICV Program. The agreement is aimed at expanding the National ICV program, to include all sectors, at the federal and local levels. In 2022, the National ICV program redirected more than AED 53 billion into the national economy, a year-on-year increase of 25%.
