
Union Coop: Mass Sterilization of Facilities, Branches and Commercial Centers
Dubai, UAE - January 17, 2022: Union Coop, the largest consumer cooperative in the UAE, confirmed that the cooperative’s Admin Affairs department is continuing its sterilization operations to maintain the highest standards of public health and safety in all its facilities, branches and commercial centers located in different areas of Dubai.
In detail, Mr. MOHAMMED BERREGAD ALFALASI, Admin Affairs Department Director, Union Coop said that the cooperative is continuing the sterilization process in all facilities and branches to preserve the safety of its shoppers, suppliers and employees.
He pointed out that the cooperative is strict on the issue of sterilization and preventive measures to ensure the health and safety of its stakeholders, as the Department of Admin Affairs has carried out multiple sessions of periodic sterilization since the beginning of the Corona pandemic until now, and focuses on all areas in its branches and centers in Dubai, pointing out that the cooperative relied on repeated sterilization procedures carried out by specialized external companies and licensed by the concerned authorities in the emirate of Dubai, in addition to the purchase of sterilization machines for all branches and staff accommodation, to continue the sterilization operations on a timely basis.
He added that the cooperative adhering to the precautionary measures, as hand sanitizers are still provided in the Head Office and in all branches, ensured by the management of each branch, indicating that large quantities of masks & gloves were provided in all branches in order to ensure the safety of shoppers, and a factory was contracted to provide plastic bags used to cover the handles of shopping carts, which are sterilized after each use.
He pointed out that at the ‘employee’ level, the cooperative has provided masks to all employees periodically and continuously since the beginning of the pandemic until now, noting that there is an ongoing contract to sterilize all types of vegetables and fruits in all branches of the cooperative, in order to provide a unique shopping experience in a healthy environment, in line with the nation’s directions in this regard to limit the spread of the Coronavirus and maintain the safety of individuals of all groups.
