Sami Al-jaber Joins Adidas Family as Latest Brand Ambassador
23, September 2021- adidas today officially announced its partnership with Saudi legend and former football player Sami Al-Jaber. Al-Jaber is the latest addition to the growing list of local Saudi players and ambassadors to have signed with the brand, including recently announced signing and current Saudi national football team captain Salman Al- Faraj. The announcement comes as the nation celebrates its 91st annual National Day.
This monumental moment falls directly in line with the brand’s evolution of its long-standing brand attitude Impossible Is Nothing. Empowering and celebrating athletes and iconic sportspeople in the region has been a vital message for adidas, with the brand taking several steps to ensure that regional and local sports communities are well represented and supported. Through this announcement, adidas aims to continue celebrating those communities that are creating a movement in sports.
Commenting on the announcement, Al-Jaber stated “It’s a feeling of immense pride and excitement to be joining the adidas family. adidas’ brand attitude “Impossible Is Nothing” is a message that really resonates with me both at a personal and professional level. Special thanks to adidas for the continuous support to develop and engage local and regional communities through sport. Seeing possibilities in sport is key to achieving our purpose of changing lives.”
Sami Al-Jaber is one of the all-time legends of Middle East football and one of the Kingdom’s greatest footballers. As well as a stellar career with Saudi Arabia’s Al Hilal, where he scored 173 goals in 376 appearances, he was also capped 163 times for the National team scoring 43 times. On the international stage, he competed in four FIFA World Cups and scored three goals to confirm his place as the “top Arab Scorer”.
To adidas, Impossible Is Nothing is a way of seeing the world for what it can be, not as it is. It is an attitude shared by its community and its partners. With its continuous efforts across the sporting landscape, adidas aims to take a front row seat as Saudi Arabia continues to break barriers in sports with the brand continuing its pledge to cultivate local talent in the Kingdom across the sports realm.
