
Emirati Women's Day Program to Enroll More Women in the Health Sector
On Emirati Women's Day, Dubai Health Authority launches 'Raeedat' program to encourage Emirati women to work in the health sector.
Al Ketbi: The program aims to enhance the presence of Emirati women in the health sector across all specialties
Dubai, United Arab Emirates, August 28, 2021: Today, the Dubai Health Authority launched a training program known as 'Raeedat', which aims to encourage Emirati women to work in the health sector across various specialties.
The program aims to provide support and encouragement to Emirati women interested in taking up a career in the health field. From the age of 12, Emirati girls will be provided with an opportunity to take part in the program. They will be educated on healthcare concepts and will receive complete support and guidance so that they can enroll themselves in the right healthcare career path. They will receive continuous training and upskilling opportunities until the age of retirement if they participate in this unique program.
His Excellency Awadh Al Ketbi, Director General of the DHA expressed his thanks and gratitude to His Highness Sheikh Khalifa bin Zayed Al Nahyan, President of the UAE; His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice President and Prime Minister of the UAE and Ruler of Dubai; His Highness Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Crown Prince of Abu Dhabi and Deputy Supreme Commander of the UAE Armed Forces; Their Highnesses the Members of the Supreme Council and Rulers of the Emirates.
His Excellency also extended his thanks and gratitude to H.H. Sheikha Fatima bint Mubarak, Chairwoman of the General Women’s Union, President of the Supreme Council for Motherhood and Childhood, Supreme Chairwoman of the Family Development Foundation, and the “Mother of the Nation” for her support for women empowerment.
He said the program, which was launched on Emirati Women’s Day, will further bolster and encourage women to take up a career in the health sector.
He stated that the Dubai Health Authority has adopted many programs to encourage and promote the development of Emirati women in the health sector in Dubai and that Emirati woman hold various pivotal positions within the DHA and that they have significantly contributed to the development and growth of the health sector.
Dr. Manal Taryam, CEO of Primary Healthcare at the DHA said that the idea of the 'Raeedat' program is to encourage Emirati women to join the health sector, whether in it is in medical, medical support, technical or administrative positions.
She stated that the process of motivating and preparing female citizens to work in this important sector will start from the age of 12, by introducing them to the health sector and the medical field.
Dr. Manal Taryam explained that the women enrolled under this program will get access to continuous training and learning opportunities until the age of their retirement so that they can continue to upskill and grow in their careers.
