Clinics and specialized medical facilities in IVF treatments undertake specific measures to combat threats related to Coronavirus

Dubai, UAE, 31st March 2020:  Medical professionals in the UAE have stepped up their game with relentless efforts to combat the spread of COVID-19. Several healthcare facilities have implemented unique steps at their facilities to align with government’s policies.

“As a responsible IVF brand, it is critical that we collaborate with the government’s policies and mobilize action plans that safeguard patients, staff and doctors and yet cater to the needs of our patients. As such, our strategy utilizes safety precautions along with technology utilization,” said Dr Laura Melado, IVF Specialist of IVI Middle East Fertility Clinic.

As most of the patients at the clinic currently are the ones amidst treatment, use of safe antimicrobial / disinfectant products as recommended by Center for Disease Control (CDC) has been undertaken. In addition, a team of dedicated and specially trained staff from the housekeeping department ensures deep cleaning of the clinic at periodic intervals where special care is been taken to clean door handles, chairs, sofa, coffee machines, water dispensers, tables and all common touch points.

“To instil awareness among our staff and patients, we have a dedicated nurse who is screening every visitor entering the clinic for elevated body temperature, if any. Additionally, alcohol-based sanitizers are displayed at accessible locations to help patients sanitize hands after entering the clinic. To ensure that we maintain social distancing, the waiting area at the reception and other clinic premises have been re-arranged to maintain a one meter distance between people. Various warning labels have also been pasted on the chairs and sofas of the clinic premises. We have also installed signages across the clinic reiterating basic hygiene fundamentals, including - cover your cough, how to wash your hands, social distancing and COVID-19 symptoms to look out for,” added Dr Laura.

At a time when individuals all over the world are taking necessary precautions to contain the spread of COVID-19, increasing the capacities and implementing safety measures at hospitals will certainly help mitigate the effect of the Coronavirus threat on UAE patients, residents and visitors.
