LG Inspires Sustainable Living With Innovations for Smart Homes
Dubai, United Arab Emirates, February 27, 2020: Technological advances play a surprisingly pivotal role in unlocking a sustainable future, where intelligent, connected devices are simplifying daily living, providing suitable alternatives and ensuring energy efficiency.
Today, they enable consumers to practice sustainability and help ensure a cleaner future, simply by exerting greater control over the way resources are used in their homes.
Inspiring a new connected way of living for consumers, LG Electronics (LG) has released home appliances such as air conditioners, TVs, refrigerators, washing machines, and vacuum cleaners that incorporate AI technologies.
The company’s LG ThinQ technology harnesses the power of machine learning and data analytics to provide customer care services based on usage habits and the status of each device. It also enables devices to be operated from the convenience of a free-to-download smartphone application, unlocking a world of potential for remote operation and intelligent living.
“Using innovative technologies, LG Electronics strives to add higher value to our customers’ lives while prioritizing sustainable development. Through the incorporation of AI, cloud services, connectivity, software, and big data to our diverse product portfolio, we introduce intelligent living with LG ThinQ. It delivers the value of greater user experience, active product management, and optimal service delivery to our customers while also considering the environmental impact,” says Mr. Hongju Jeon, President, LG Electronics Gulf.
Powered by LG ThinQ, the LG TWINWash washing machine recommends the most optimal setting or wash cycle while also allowing the customer to track energy consumption with every selected mode. It also delivers the option of energy monitoring on the InstaView Door-in-Door refrigerator while also instinctively controlling energy consumption during registered patterns of peak usage and off-peak periods alternatively.
LG’s wide range of air solutions are also designed for compatibility with the LG ThinQ app enabling control of LG PuriCare air purifiers or LG DUALCOOL air conditioners from anywhere, for remote monitoring of indoor air pollutions as well as optimum adjustment of temperature. In comparison with conventional ACs, LG DUALCOOL units benefit from the company’s Dual Inverter Compressor, which adjusts compressor speed to maintain desired temperature levels. The result is a residential AC unit which not only provides regulated temperatures, but also consumes less energy than conventional models, saving energy by up to 65%.
Prioritizing sustainability and promoting an intelligent lifestyle, LG Electronics’ energy strategy focuses on two key areas: energy efficiency enhancement and reduce greenhouse gas emissions during usage and manufacturing. In addition to ensuring that all of its products fully comply with international energy regulations, LG aims to reduce carbon emissions at the production stage by 50% compared to that of 2017 and become carbon-neutral by 2030
